The Razer Blade 15 is an all-around great gaming laptop. It has the best battery life and delivers performance that’s unmatched by its competitors in every category.
With that said, you’re going to get throttling with a slimline design and even the Blade 17 has not the best battery life. However, don’t let that discourage you because it’s still an outstanding performance from an extremely beautiful laptop.
The Blade 15 is not the lightest gaming laptop on the market, but it still weighs less than most traditional gaming laptops. Plus it offers the same performance and specs. That weight also means the Blade 15 travels well in your backpack. This gaming laptop is a fantastic option for gamers on the go… or for those who don’t have enough space for a full-sized desktop computer and monitor.

The Asus ROG Zephyrus G14 (GA402RJ) is powered by a powerful AMD Ryzen 9 6900HS. It’s also equipped with the AMD RX 6700S graphics card.

Despite being a slightly less powerful G14 than the one we reviewed, all of its components are still just as powerful. The CPU is an octa-core AMD number, while the GPU and RAM are more modest. It’s lower prices make it a powerful gaming PC which is impressive considering its affordable price.
The Zephyrus G14 for 2022 is a powerful desktop with a well-balanced spec. It offers excellent performance, making it great for gaming and much more.
We checked out the version with AMD’s RX 6800S, though there is an option for an RX 6700S. The cheaper option may sound a little better to many of you, as the high-end one can get a little pricey and close in on the expensive but excellent Razer Blade 14. It’s not helped much by its 32GB of DDR5-4800 RAM, but we do love having all that speedy memory ready to go for anything you can throw at it.
This laptop computer features the AMD Ryzen 6900HS. That’s one of the top chips from AMD’s Ryzen 6000-series, but with a boost clock speed of 4.9GHz, this is one of the standout mobile processors you’ll find on the market so it should suit your needs just fine. It packs 8 cores and 16 threads of Zen 3+, capable of boosting to that high frequency, and includes Zen+ architecture.
I’m really pleased with the G14’s overall gaming performance.
Even with its preset optimized for performance, the G14 will fly through any of our benchmarking suites. The GPU and CPU combo it has running is just phenomenal. I’m genuinely impressed by the gaming performance it provides across the board. It’s able to top the framerate of RTX 3080 and RTX 3070 chips, even those in laptops. The only laptop that can outrun it is the Razer Blade 17, which costs a lot more than it does.
My favorite aspect of the G14 is in the name—it’s a 14-inch laptop. The benefits of this design are that it provides more screen real estate and portability than 15- or 17-inch models, but without the compromises of smaller 13-inch designs. The big thing with this model is that it has a 16:10 aspect ratio.
The G14’s high refresh and high-resolution panel is a thing of beauty. It’s bright, vibrant, and it keeps every detail visible to perfection.
One thing that might put you off this device is the battery life, which isn’t the best while getting some gaming on. You might get more battery spit if you’re playing videos or doing something less demanding like working, but we really do expect a bit more from today’s laptops. It’s not a deal breaker, but definitely something to bear in mind.
The G14 is now just as expensive as the competition, and it doesn’t include enough to justify the price.
The laptop’s inclusion of 32GB DDR5 RAM is what really sets it apart. The memory is soldered onto the motherboard and there’s room for 16GB more with a removable SO-DIMM. Trust me, that kind of hardware isn’t cheap. Since DDR5 was released last year, prices have hardly been set and this laptop includes lots of high-performance RAM by comparison to most gaming PCs.
Ultimately, the G14 is a solid laptop and worth checking out. The couple of weeks that I’ve had it have been really easy to use, and I didn’t run into any major glitches with it. For the few minor gripes I have about the design, Asus has more than compensated for this by making a great-looking machine with a lot of positives. That being said, the cheaper models may be better for you. They still have that same nice design and comfortable ergonomics but with an easier-to-afford price tag.
